Bell and Thompson Join Adesta Board of Directors


OMAHA, Neb., Feb. 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Adesta LLC, a systems integrator for communication networks, electronic security systems, and intelligent transportation systems, today announced Richard R. Bell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of HDR, Inc. and Harold "Tommy" Thompson, former Executive Director for the Iowa Communications Network, will serve on the company's board.

Richard Bell began his career with HDR, a prominent national architectural and engineering consulting firm in 1974. He holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in engineering and his professional experience includes engineering design, project planning, management coordination and client liaison. HDR has enjoyed robust growth under Bell's management and now operates over 70 offices nationwide.

Thompson served as the Executive Director of the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) from its inception in 1994 until his retirement in 2002. Prior to that he held the position of Deputy Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard. General Thompson holds degrees from the University of South Dakota, Drake University, and is a graduate of both the United States Army Command and General Staff College and the War College. He has served in the National Guard for over 40 years, is a former member of the Federal Networking Council Advisory Committee chartered by the National Science Foundation, served as the Executive Director of the Iowa 2010 Project and chaired the 1993 Iowa Flood Recovery Task Force.

Michael McCarthy is the chairman of McCarthy Group, Inc., Omaha, Neb., which he founded in 1986. Dennis O'brien serves as a vice president with McCarthy. The company, through its subsidiary, McCarthy & Co., advises clients concerning mergers, acquisitions and financing, invests in emerging companies and provides asset management services for institutional and individual clients.

Sommerfeld has provided engineering and construction management services to the telecommunications industry for over 25 years. Before accepting the position of President, he served Adesta as Senior Vice President of Project Development. Prior to joining Adesta in 1991, Mr. Sommerfeld acquired 17 years of experience with engineering consulting firms.
