New TerraGraphiX Public Safety Software Enhances Homeland Security

Free 90-Day Trial Available to Public Safety Officers

CARMEL, Ind., March 20, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Sharing criminal activity and homeland security information with different departments and jurisdictions has always been a major stumbling block for front line public safety officers, federal agents and government officials.

In a time when information sharing and situational awareness are critical to homeland security, a delay in communication and lack of information can have devastating effects.

TerraGraphiX Inc. has launched TerraView2, the company's next generation of situational awareness software which allows coordinated communication across all levels of government.

TerraView2 is a powerful tool that helps front line public safety responders, federal agents and intelligence analysts create, manage, share, analyze and act upon the most up-to-date information available. The result is better communication across many levels and jurisdictions, and enhanced homeland and hometown security.

Currently, there are numerous federal, state and local public safety departments and agencies throughout the United States using TerraView911 (version 1), including federal drug task forces, the DEA, state fire marshal offices, and local fire, police and sheriff's departments.

"Front line officers need information and TerraView2 allows them to share information not only within their department, but with other homeland security officials and agencies," said Todd Wood, CEO of TerraGraphiX, a Carmel, Ind. software company that developed TerraView2.

One of the keys to sharing information is TerraGraphiX' patent-pending DataPoint(TM) technology that ties information to physical locations. DataPoints can be created by any officer or agent with their in-car laptop computer and may contain attachments consisting of any file type related to the actual physical location. These include digital video, MP3s, digital sound recordings, Microsoft Word or Excel documents, PDFs, building plans, incident reports, mug shots or photos.

By sharing DataPoints with other jurisdictions and agencies, it allows users to route DataPoints to anyone in the world running TerraView2.

"We developed TerraView2 by listening to officers and public safety officials," said Wood. "By having the ability to share information, every officer is at an advantage when fighting crime or doing surveillance for homeland security purposes."

TerraGraphiX is making TerraView2 available to police and fire officers, public safety departments and federal agencies free of charge for 90 days. TerraView2 can be downloaded for a free 90-day trial at terragraphix.net.
