Searching for Love -- New memoir tells of dancer's life, failed marriages and Native American heritage

CONKLIN, Mich., Oct. 14, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- From day one, Crystal Rivers says her life was an "evil, vicious, sex trip." In the new autobiography, Someone Please Love Me: A True Story of a Dancer from the Movie Porky's (now available through 1stBooks), Rivers describes her life from the earliest days in an orphanage to life with her eighth husband. In a telling work, this lifelong dancer reveals it all.

Born to an Apache mother, she was given up for adoption in Detroit and later adopted by a German couple. Throughout her childhood, she believed she was German; however, she later discovered her Native American background. She then began to research her heritage and Native American traditions.

At 17, she started a family. After her first marriage fell apart, she became a topless dancer. She had three children, and one daughter even danced alongside her in the strip club. She continued to dance until age 50. Her credits include singing with the famous opera singer, Beverly Sills in the Palm Beach Civic Opera and dancing for the movie, "Porky's."

Her personal life dealt her a tougher hand, however. Married to seven husbands who beat her, sexually abused her, abused her children and were either alcoholics or drug addicts, she finally found a caring man in her current husband. She writes about getting involved with witchcraft and escaping from the grips of the mafia.

With her new book, River records her amazing experiences, revealing her most intimate secrets, many of which have not been disclosed even to her closest friends. She also tells how faith in God, her Indian heritage and her family helped her survive and flourish throughout her amazing life adventure.

Someone Please Love Me is Rivers' first book.
