Southwestern Medical Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:SWML), announced on Tuesday that it has acquired exclusive rights to manufacture, market, and otherwise exploit Labguard Accucheck (tm), cutting-edge technology targeted at the explosive on-site diagnostics and testing market. Through final-prototype development and clinical evaluation, the Company is currently advancing Labguard Accucheck toward commercialization. Company Vice-President of New Product Development, Richard Powell, commented, "Labguard Accucheck (tm) is an important advancement in on-site specimen collection & analysis which we believe offers the potential to catapult Southwestern Medical Solutions into the role of a key supplier to the multibillion-dollar on-site testing industry. One Nasdaq stock that saw significant up movement on Tuesday was Aspen Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:AZPN). Aspen announced on Tuesday that Statoil, a major Norwegian oil & gas producer, has signed a multi-year license agreement to deploy AspenTech's integrated software solution for Front-End Engineering Design (FEED). Statoil will use the solution, which combines process simulation, economic evaluation and engineering data management, to create more efficient engineering work processes for major new exploration and production projects. AZPN traded heavier than usual volume Tuesday of 1,268,917 to end at $6.38, up $ 0.78 (13.93 %)

Also on the Nasdaq, making an up movement and trading well was Intel Corporation (Nasdaq:INTC), 55,188,869 shares traded to end at $27.15 Up 0.31 (1.15).

And Applied Materials, Inc. (Nasdaq:AMAT), reported results for its second fiscal quarter ended May 2, 2004. Net sales were $2.02 billion, up 30 percent from $1.56 billion for the first fiscal quarter of 2004, and up 82 percent from $1.11 billion for the second fiscal quarter of 2003.
