Kemira GrowHow has signed an agreement on the purchase of Transcenter Kft, a well established Hungarian fertilizer factory. In addition to the local production capacity, the transaction also strengthens Kemira GrowHow's presence in the neighbouring countries.
Transcenter has an annual turnover of approximately 20 million euros. Transcenter has mainly operated in the Hungarian market but has also sold products to neighbouring countries. Kemira GrowHow will develop Transcenter's production to meet the required quality standards and will aim to increase production volumes considerably. Transcenter is located in Peremarton, Veszprém county, and has 140 employees.
Kemira GrowHow is the second biggest fertiliser producer in Europe. Today its main markets are in Western Europe and the Baltic Rim area. This acquisition is a natural continuation of Kemira GrowHow's expansion strategy in Central and Eastern Europe. Kemira GrowHow has been active on the Hungarian fertiliser market for over ten years and is well known for its cultivation knowhow and high quality customized fertilisers.
The transaction is conditional and still requires inter alia the approval of the competition authorities.
