Agfa-Gevaert and ProImage have announced that they have signed an agreement by which Agfa will acquire all the assets and staff of ProImage, a leading developer of browser-based digital workflow solutions for the newspaper and printing industries. ProImage employs 29 people worldwide and its revenue in 2003 totalled 6.7 million USD.
Agfa will continue to use the ProImage brand with the same products and customer support. ProImage will benefit from being part of a large company that is committed to the newspaper industry and has a deep understanding of its needs.

"Using a multi-brand, multi-channel approach, we can now offer customised total solutions including hardware, software and consumables as well as tailored packages for customers who prefer a multi-vendor solution."
"Our customers will continue to enjoy the same high level of service from the same experienced staff," said Dov Rainis, CEO of ProImage, "but they will also benefit from combined industry expertise, a broadened technology base and a long-term commitment and strategy."
