REMINDER, Sept. 26, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) --
WHAT: Unveiling and dedication of the largest painting ever
created by one person. Created by environmental artist
Wyland, the 7-acre painting, entitled "Marine Life of the
Gulf," breaks the previous record set by the artist in
the 1993 Guinness Book of World Records by more than
two acres.
WHEN: 1-2 PM Sunday, Sept. 26 -- Dedication Ceremony
WHERE: Legendary Marina, dry storage marina, 690 Regatta Blvd.,
Destin, Florida. (Marina is located at the south side of
the Mid-Bay Bridge on the Choctawhatchee Bay)
WHO: One of the world's most recognizable artists, Wyland, 48,
has developed an international reputation for his
commitment to marine life conservation. Most notable are
his Whaling Walls -- giant marine life murals in 68
cities across the world, including the largest painting
in history (1993 Guinness Book of World Records --
Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, Calif.).
In August, the Wyland Foundation completed a 15-state
coastal cleanup tour of the eastern U.S.
WHY: Sponsored by the Wyland Foundation (a 501c3 non-profit)
and Legendary Inc., the mural is part of an on-going
non-profit arts-in-public places project to
raise awareness for coastal resources.

blue whales, and humpback whales.
