Haldex PreX technology introduced in new Volvo XC 90 V8


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Haldex Traction Systems, a division in the Haldex group, has developed a new improved AWD system including the Haldex PreX technology. The first serial deliveries of the new AWD system are for Volvo's new XC 90 with the V8 engine.

The PreX technology provides the possibility to pre-load the AWD system resulting in instant four-wheel-drive traction and improved handling performance. The PreX function is engaged automatically whenever needed.

With the PreX technology, Haldex has again introduced a first to themarket and confirmed the leading position in the fast growing segment ofelectronically controlled AWD systems.
