Dr. Chris Bauer to Speak on Impact of Ethics within Organizations


LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The monthly meeting of the Los Angeles chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) will feature a presentation by Chris Bauer, Ph.D., a psychologist focusing on the impact of ethics violations within organizations. His presentation will discuss what your company needs to be doing beyond writing an ethics code. Dr. Bauer will explain what ethics are and aren't (and why the difference matters), how to easily recognize 'red flags' for ethics problems and what to do when you see them, and the basic do's and don'ts of consulting about ethics issues. He will discuss who is most at risk for ethics violations and why, the essentials of confronting others -- and oneself -- on ethics concerns, and how to keep ethics clearly in mind in the course of day-to-day decision making. Dr. Bauer will offer a 'preventive maintenance' approach to ethics. The dinner program will be held on Thursday, October 21, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Reagan Dining Room on the third floor of the Jonathan Club, 545 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles.

The FEI's Professional Development Program, which will be held prior to the regular dinner meeting, presents David J. Cichelli from the Alexander Group. His seminar, "What finance professionals should know about sales compensation," helps executives understand and manage this variable expense. Cichelli will also discuss the results of The Alexander Group's, "2004 Sales Compensation Trends Survey." The professional development program will start at 5 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Jonathan Club.
