Dol-Vando Skin Care and Day Spa: Rubbing Out Today's Biggest Health Concern

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Feb. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Recent research has confirmed what Naoko Vold has known all her life: the Western Europe and Japanese techniques practiced in her spa contribute to healthier bodies and minds by combating stress. Stress has been linked as a leading contributor to heart disease, chronic pain, and compromised immune systems.

Located in an airy 2,600 square foot facility, Dol-Vando spa treatments rub, peel and drain away the effects of stress. Spa offerings include a large steam room, hydro-showers and Jacuzzi, followed by customized whole person treatments.

Fundamental to the spa's stress-beating treatments is the Japanese philosophy, Shiatsu. Shiatsu: a method where pressure is applied to the tight muscle removing the buildup of lactic acid. Stress and kinks in the back can limit movement and increase fatigue. With a few minutes of Shiatsu pressure the customer feels refreshed with energy and can breathe easier.

"My mother used ancient Shiatsu techniques to treat colds, sore throats and aching tummies," says Vold who began studying Shiatsu more than thirty years ago and has incorporated the method into other spa offerings.

Vold, encourages the Dol-Vando lymphatic drainage treatment, either body wrap or facial. Both treatments involve a pulsating massage using a Gx-99 Vibratory Endermatic Machine. This helps people with chronic pain such as arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus and Osteoporosis. The body wrap includes a full body sea clay mask and wrap soaked in an amino acid solution. This treatment followed by 25 minutes in the steam room activates the lymphatic system which helps to flush excess fluids and toxins from the body. When used as a facial, the treatment enhances one's beauty by reducing redness, dark circles, and puffiness around the eyes. The body's lymphatic system; when operating properly is essential to optimal health.

"I believe it is the therapist's job to reduce pain, relieve tension and increase circulation," says Vold. "The therapist must know how to read the client's body and level of mental stress, and then perform the hand skills with proper timing."

Vold has been a member of the National Esthetics America since 1993, has been active in the Michigan Cosmetology Educational Community for fifteen years, and is a member of the prestigious international esthetics and beauty therapy organization CIDESCO.

Other services include: Oxygen and anti-aging facials, acne treatments, pedicures, body wraps, depilatory waxing, and the GX-99 Vibratory Endermatic treatments.

Complimentary spa treatments are available to members of the press for demonstration purposes. For more information and to schedule a demonstration, please contact:
