Universal Detection Technology Installs Anthrax Smoke Detector In A Well-Known Internationally Branded Hotel Chain

LOS ANGELES, March 10, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Universal Detection Technology (OTCBB:UDTT) today announced that it has installed an Anthrax Smoke Detector (ASD) unit at a major hotel in Orange County, Calif. The detection device was installed within the hotel's Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system at the point where air from the lobby and the common areas are circulated back in to the building. An inlet head that captures particles smaller than three microns was placed in the main exhaust duct from the lobby and fed directly into the ASD. Air traveling through the duct at 16.1 feet per minute will be sampled on an hourly basis for the presence of bacterial spores. We expect that collected samples will provide valuable scientific data about background bacterial spore levels in the air. The company will use the data to closely monitor and study the performance of the machine in a non-controlled setting. At the hotel's request, the specific identity and location of the hotel cannot be disclosed, however, the Company can disclose that the detection devise was installed in one of the most well known internationally branded hotel chains.

"The installation of UDTT's Anthrax Smoke Detector at a large scale hotel with huge traffic is a major milestone in our marketing efforts which we initially have targeted to larger venues," says Jacques Tizabi, UDTT chairman and CEO.
