Intrepid Receives New Engineering Contracts

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, April 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Intrepid Technology and Resources, Inc. (ITR) (OTCBB:IESV), a renewable energy company, continues to move forward with engineering and technical support to the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and other potential government customers through ITR's Engineering Services Division.

The INL new site contractor, Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) team, which includes Battelle, BWX Technologies, Washington Group International, Electric Power Research Institute and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has recently completed their transition and is now in the process of moving forward with the transformation of the INL.

The Battelle team intends to become the preeminent center for nuclear and other alternate energy sources. The lab will also be a major center for national security technology development and demonstration. This will mean renewed efforts to utilize local engineering firms that have experienced nuclear engineering and technical support personnel to support these initiatives. ITR is part of the Washington Group International (WGI) Team that won an Engineering Services Basic Order Agreement (BOA) awarded by Bechtel in 2004.

ITR has recently seen an increase in their Engineering Services Division contracts including: North Wind, Inc. $36,500, Envirocare of Utah, Inc. $34,200 and Washington Safety Management Solutions $91,700. ITR will continue to support these engineering and technical support services and will continue its working relationship with Washington Group International.

While ITR focuses on developing it's "Methane to Market" strategy through the existing Whitesides biogas plant and soon to be started Westpoint plant, Engineering Services, one of four ITR groups, will continue to be a valuable and increasing component of that strategy.
