Northrop Grumman Reopens Sperry Marine Support Center in New Orleans

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Feb. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Feb. 6, 2006 - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has announced that its Sperry Marine North American Support Center in New Orleans has completed its recovery from Hurricane Katrina damage and is now operating at 100 percent capacity.

The New Orleans facility is the primary center for overhauling MK37 gyrocompasses, as well as LCD monitors, radars, autopilots, speed logs and other products. A large inventory of new and refurbished spare parts is held at this center. It also houses one of the company's worldwide service control centers, dispatching service calls around the world for shipboard maintenance and repair.

The office received extensive interior and exterior damage from Hurricane Katrina. Immediately after the storm, company personnel quickly moved operations, including spares inventory, to temporary warehousing and office space in the company's Houston and Mobile, Ala., locations. Other service centers in Rotterdam, Singapore, Hamburg and London took over the service dispatch function during the transition period to ensure that customers experienced no interruption of service.

"Through extensive disaster and business resumption planning and heroic efforts by corporate and local employees, we managed to sustain the highest levels of customer service in the aftermath of the hurricane and to achieve a full recovery of operations in record time," said Andrew Fraser, director of worldwide service for Sperry Marine.

Sperry Marine, with worldwide headquarters in Charlottesville, Va., and major engineering and support offices in New Malden, United Kingdom, and Hamburg, Germany, is part of Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector.
