BETHPAGE, N.Y., May 18, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Patricia McMahon, vice president and integrated product team leader for Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Electronic Warfare Programs, has been named one of Long Island's 50 most influential women.

This is the second time in three years that McMahon has been named to this distinguished group. Long Island Business News established the program in 2000 to recognize the Island's top women professionals for business acumen, mentoring and community involvement. Honorees are chosen by a committee of Long Island business and civic leaders.
McMahon leads a group of approximately 600 Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems sector employees who develop advanced airborne electronic attack systems. Best known of these systems is the EA-6B Prowler aircraft, which is considered a national asset and is operated by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and supports the U.S. Air Force and Army.
"This is a fitting honor for Pat," said Duke Dufresne, sector vice president for Integrated Systems' airborne early warning and electronic warfare systems business area. "It recognizes not only her business achievements but also her contributions to the greater Long Island community. I am very proud to have her as a member of my leadership team."
McMahon is currently the chairman of the Town of Babylon Planning Board, former member of the Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals, and former chairman of the Town of Babylon Industrial Development Agency Board. She was the first woman to chair the Planning and Industrial Development boards. McMahon also received the 2006 Town of Babylon Women in Government award.
McMahon is currently on the boards of the Long Island Software and Technology Network (LISTnet), Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) at SUNY Stony Brook, and the Farmingdale College Foundation.
A graduate of the New York Institute of Technology and the State University at Farmingdale, she began her 25-year career in program management as a program administrator for the U.S. Army Electronic Identification system for the Patriot Missile System. She joined what was then Hazeltine Corporation in 1981 after spending three years with the Defense Logistics Agency in Garden City, N.Y. In 1988, Emerson Electric Corporation acquired Hazeltine Corporation, and McMahon was promoted to director of manufacturing programs and planning.
Prior to joining Northrop Grumman in 2003, McMahon was vice president and general manager of the electronic identification/ display systems/antenna systems business area for BAE Systems communication, navigation, identification and reconnaissance business unit in Greenlawn, NY.
