Heijmans finalises the sale of Vebo Holding BV

Vebo is active in the design, manufacture and supply of batches of prefab concrete and steel components. The products are sold primarily on the Dutch market for house- building and commercial and industrial buildings. Since 1997, the company has formed a part of Heijmans. Vebo Holding BV is the holding company for the wholly-owned subsidiaries Prefab Beton Vebo BV, Vebo Staal BV, Nehobo Beton and Staal BV.  In 2005, Vebo Holding BV generated a turnover of EUR 37 million and employed approximately 260 people.

The objective of Heijmans' strategy is to focus on the chain property, building and infrastructure. Companies undertaking batch production fall outside these core activities. In line with this strategy, the production company Opstalan (insulating roof systems) was sold in April 2005 and in January 2006 agreement was reached for a management buy-out of the wood and chipboard processing plant Bouw Toe.

BTE Nederland BV, the Dutch division of the BTE group, is part of the Hombergh group in Teteringen. The BTE group is a leading industrial group of prefab concrete producers with a consolidated turnover of approximately EUR 110 million. The BTE group employs around 650 people in the Netherlands and Germany and has 12 production sites.
The takeover of Vebo Holding BV fits perfectly within BTE's vision and strategy of strengthening its position in the Netherlands and is appealing due to the complementary character of Vebo's products. In addition, the company's pursuit of economies of scale and of optimising production will benefit from Vebo's collaboration with the other BTE companies.
