Salon City, Inc.'s Pittsburgh Press Party a Hit; First Check On Account of $20 Million Commitment Presented

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Beautymaker guests at Salon City, Inc.'s (Pink Sheets:SLON) press party in Pittsburgh on August 21 "made history" in the words of Steven G. Casciola, President and CEO of SCI. The event, held at Spa Uptown in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, was the kick-off of a multi-city press party tour announcing that Salon City. Inc. is now the first publicly traded media company to help brand the professional salon industry to the public. President and CEO of Fountain Capital Fund, Inc. Garland E. Harris presented Casciola with the first check on account of check drawn on FCF's $20 million, two-year advertising commitment to Salon City, Inc. in the amount of $54,000.00

Harris was joined by his wife, Evelyn, President of the Pittsburgh Securities Exchange. "I would like to extend a special thank you to Garland Harris for his great support of Salon City, and also to Geri Mataya for hosting our event in her salon," Casciola said. Other attendees included Jeffrey D. Imbrescia, President of Douglas Education Center and an SCI investor, Karen Nelson and Carrie Holman of Cosmetology Academy of Douglas Education, Bob Kompeir and Heidi Monahan of Retro Hair, Terrie Valkanas of Framesi, Rick Swank and Debbie D of Regis, Tony Fini of Francesco's Salon in Mentor, OH, Aimee Valentine of Aimee Valentine Heart of Style, Andy Lazarri, IT&LY Hair Fashion's National Educational Director, Pattie Gunsburg, wife of the founder of Pittsburgh-based Retro Hair, Joe Tierno, Sales Manager for PA Beauty Supply (representatives of Retro Hair, Alterna and IT&LY), Anthony Vargo of Bella Cappelli Academy and Paul Mitchell Partner Schools, Melanie Rae Lane, photographer, and Tom Fauls, Steel City Media, as well as many others.

The party was co-sponsored by Fountain Capital Fund Inc, Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation (Pink Sheets:UPZS) and Von Dutch Jewelry. Gift bags from Von Dutch, containing two stunning watches from the company, and gift bags from Retro Hair were raffled off. The amazing cars provided by Fuzzy of Pittsburgh Exoticars-a Momo edition Lamborghini Diablo and a Ferrari F355-as well as beautiful models and "celebrities" from Douglas Education Centers, including Elvis, Betty Page, Marilyn Monroe, Carmen Miranda, Scarlett O'Hara and Marlo Thomas -- created photo opportunities.

Members of the Fountain Capital Fund team worked hard with Lonnie Thomas, Director of Media Relations, to coordinate this landmark event. "I was so thrilled to have a chance to be a part of this fresh view of Pittsburgh," Thomas said. "It was truly a great evening, and brought together a side of Pittsburgh that many probably don't realize is here-Beauty, which now reigns in Pittsburgh, PA."
