Salon City, Inc. Salutes New York; Chooses Big Apple to Detail National Newsstand Rollout


WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 12, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Salon City, Inc. was in NYC this week to discuss the national rollout of Salon City magazine. Stated Steven Casciola, SCI President and CEO, "We are preparing our plans for the 2007-2008 year, and having our magazine on newsstands and in airports will greatly increase the visibility of the Salon City brand. We chose New York to make this announcement as a salute to a great city that has helped to make SCI what it has become."

SCI is targeting an on-sale date of its redesigned magazine for January 2007. Circulation and reach will increase dramatically and will include international distribution for the first time in the six-year history of the publication.

Casciola added, "We are positioning the magazine as the flagship product of the media company Salon City, Inc. With a growing and influential global audience of conscious consumers, we are drawing more people to our unique approach to creating content focusing on celebrities, beauty, fashion, music, lifestyle and other favorite topics of today's readers."

In January, the magazine will be resized to accommodate the thousands of newsstands and airport-display criteria. "We will make it smart, sexy, now and real," says Casciola.

Salon City's Press Party tour is blazoning the message that the company has gone public and intends to become the number-one media company in the world branding the professional salon industry to the public. "These are lofty goals," said Casciola, "but we can already see that our leadership and being first in beauty entertainment is setting the stage for much larger initiatives like the ones we are starting to develop in publishing, on-line, in live events and for television."

SCI's current tour includes stops in New York City (as a salute to DePasquale Salon Systems), Niagara Falls for a press party with distributor Becker Beauty Supply (sponsored by Von Dutch Watches and Fountain Capital Fund, Inc.), and Las Vegas for press coverage of TIGI's annual event. More than 50 additional cities are now being identified for hosting press party events.
