WorldWater & Power Corp. Granted Second U.S. Patent in One Week

AC/DC Hybrid Power Systems

PENNINGTON, N.J., Oct. 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- WorldWater & Power Corp. (OTCBB:WWAT), developer and marketer of proprietary high-power solar systems, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company a second patent application in one week.

The new invention, "AC/DC Hybrid Power Systems," relates to a hybrid electric system where solar DC power and AC grid power are blended together to deliver output power. By combining the two power sources, WorldWater can deliver power at a higher efficiency that results in lower cost. There are no external or internal switching components and the system is designed so both alternating and direct current sources are always available to maintain the required output power. The earlier patent granted and announced this week was "Maximum Power Point Speed Control." The new patents make six patents issued to WorldWater & Power Corp., with five more pending.

"It doesn't take an electrical engineer to recognize the major significance these technological advances bring to the industry and our customers...the benefits in cost saving and the flexibility to automatically call on grid or solar power are tremendous," said Quentin T. Kelly, Chairman of WorldWater & Power Corp.

The application of AC/DC Hybrid Power Systems is for solar powered electrical systems, motors, and water pumps, and works in conjunction with the company's other proprietary technologies that allow the operation of electric motors up to 600 horsepower on solar power alone.
