Salon City, Inc. Names James Hobart Director of Media Marketing

Top Industry Exec Will Lead Sales, Advertising and Branded Entertainment Growth Plans

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 4, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Top beauty exec James Hobart has been hired by Salon City, Inc. (Pink Sheets:SLON) as Director of Media Marketing, positioning the company to take advantage of significant growth opportunities in its fastest-growing region, Steven Casciola, President and CEO, announced today.

Hobart has spearheaded the marketing plans of several top companies, which relied heavily on his skill in bridging the communication gap between consumers and leading manufacturers.

For SCI, Hobart will be responsible for marketing and advertising sales throughout the US and Canada. Salon City, Inc. maintains network affiliations in New York City, Miami, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Memphis, Phoenix and other key cities. The company plans to expand its network activities in the coming year through a series of media initiatives including publishing, television and branded entertainment.

"Salon City, Inc. affords me an opportunity to use 39 years of consistent growth in all areas of the beauty industry: salons, distributorships, and manufacturers," Hobart said. "SCI's 'Prosumer' approach focuses squarely on our target market-the consumer who visits, trusts, and supports the professional salon and spa for their full service needs."

In previous positions, Hobart's leadership in sales, marketing and education has led to significant growth and profitability. Salon City, Inc. now ranks among the beauty industry's most promising companies, and is now publicly traded, a remarkable achievement for the eight-year-old company.

"James is ready to take on a new role, one that is ideally suited for him because he is so tuned into media and marketing, and a proven sales leader whose results speak for themselves," said Casciola. "Under his creative and fresh guidance and leadership, we are confident that our revenue growth will accelerate even more quickly, utilizing our new media initiatives."

Hobart will report to Steven Casciola, and also work closely with Annie Casciola, SCI's Vice President and Janis Hashe, Salon City magazine's Managing Editor.

Noted Annie Casciola, "James is blessed with a multitude of skills and A+ qualities. We look forward to his amplification of Salon City, Inc.'s message, and his participation in taking SCI and our branding partners to the next level of consumer awareness."

In 2007, Salon City, Inc. intends to grow its advertising base and to set up additional networks. The company is poised to expand its concept marketing to independent salons and distributors through collective media and consumer advertising.
