COPENHAGEN, Denmark, March 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- In February 2007, the total number of passengers in Copenhagen Airport decreased by 8,790 passengers (-0.6%) compared with February 2006. In February the traffic was adversely affected by bad weather conditions, which caused a number of cancellations.
Breakdown of departing passengers
The number of locally departing passengers increased by 36,511 passengers (+7.7%). The number of transfer/transit passengers decreased by 35,275 passengers (-14.7%).
International passengers
The number of scheduled international passengers decreased by 11,283 passengers (-1.0%), while the number of international charter passengers increased by 260 (+0.3%). Consequently, the total number of international passengers decreased by 12,131 passengers (-0.9%).
Domestic passengers
The total number of domestic passengers increased by 3,341 passengers (+2.6%) compared with February 2006.
Operations and take-off weight
In February 2007, the total number of take-offs and landings decreased by 814 operations (-4.1%), while the tonnage decreased by 8,283 tonnes (-1.4%) compared with February 2006.
