SAN JOSE, Calif., May 10, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Magma(r) Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq:LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced a line-up of demos for the 44th Design Automation Conference that will show how engineers can "Design Ahead of the Curve"(tm) using products Magma developed over the past year as the company broadened its portfolio of IC design products. The new Talus(tm) IC implementation system, methods for minimizing power consumption, and design for manufacturability (DFM) capabilities integrated in the design flow will be among the technology Magma demonstrates at DAC 2007 which is held June 3-8 in San Diego.
"As we announced in April 2006, Magma accelerated investment in R&D last year, and designers can see some of the payoff from that effort at this year's DAC," said Roy E. Jewell, Magma's president and chief operating officer. "We will be showing enhanced capabilities in existing products, as well as some brand-new products. We think they all help our customers 'Design Ahead of the Curve.'"
Magma's demonstrations at DAC will include:
* Ultra Low-Power Chip Design and Power Integrity Using Talus Power * Sign-off Power Integrity for Sub-Nanometer Designs Using Quartz(tm) Rail * Delivering High-Performance Predictable Silicon with Talus * Achieving a 2-Day RTL-to-GDSII Turnaround On Any Size Design with Talus * Be Ready for 45-nm Implementation * Magma's Advanced Timing Sign-Off System Deals Directly with Designers' Fears * Sign-off and DFM Characterization for the Full Spectrum of SoC Implementation IP * Magma's Fit in the TSMC Reference Flow * Eliminate Tapeout Surprises and Shorten Design Cycles with In-The-Loop Physical Verification * Advanced Physical Verification for 65, 45 and 32 nm * Accelerate Time to Volume with Stand-Alone and Integrated Physical and Electrical DFM * Mixed-Signal Circuit Simulation Using Native Parallel Execution * Identifying the Source of Yield Loss Throughout the Fab with Knights YieldManager(r) * Advanced Failure Analysis with Knights Camelot(tm) CAD Navigation
In addition to the software demonstrations, Magma will be involved in other activities during DAC:
* CEO Rajeev Madhavan will be a panelist on "EDA Exit Strategies: What's Next?" Monday, June 4. * ARM and Magma will host the lunchtime panel discussion "Challenges of Implementing and Integrating Super Systems on Chip (SSoCs)" on Tuesday, June 5. * Magma experts will also participate in the following workshop, panel and tutorial: * Workshop: "Design and Verification of Low Power ICs," Sunday, June 3 * Panel: "The Urban Challenge: Paving the way for Driverless Automobiles," Wednesday, June 6 * Tutorial: "How Design Meets Yield in the Fab," Friday, June 8
