"Wall Street Journal" Names Healthwise a "Top Small Workplace"

Healthwise(R) Innovations, Culture Gain National Recognition

BOISE, ID--(Marketwire - October 1, 2007) - The Healthwise culture of respect, teamwork, and do the right thing, coupled with its recent innovations in health care content, has once again received national recognition. Today, in its October 1st edition, "The Wall Street Journal" named Healthwise one of 15 Top Small Workplaces.

"It is a delight to be recognized as a great workplace," said Don Kemper, Healthwise founder and CEO. "But the real benefit comes every day in working with people who want to be here and are passionate about our mission. And because our people are both good at and happy with what they do, they serve our clients and our mission with a special zeal that brings success to them all."

Weekly fitness classes, dogs in the office, walking meetings, bikes for loan, and wellness bucks are just a few of the Healthwise activities that caught the attention of judges. Consistently high employee satisfaction is another reason: employees gave Healthwise an 8.2 on a scale of 1 to 10 in its July satisfaction survey. Other benefits include weekly healthy snacks and organic fruit/vegetable share programs, on-site chair massages, employee-led evaluations of benefits, and an atmosphere of fun. The foundation for all of this is the company's nonprofit mission of helping people make better health decisions.

Healthwise was one of 850 organizations across the nation nominated for its exceptional workplace culture. "The Wall Street Journal" and Winning Workplaces judges selected organizations that:

-- Foster teamwork, flexibility, high productivity, and innovations.
-- Treat their employees with respect.
-- Provide opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
-- Offer benefits that make the employee experience better.

"The Wall Street Journal" and Winning Workplaces began soliciting nominations last fall, and received 850 recommendations. The nominees were asked to fill out full-length applications -- of which 437 were completed -- and that group was culled to 35 finalists. Finalists provided names of employees, advisers, attorneys, and customers, who were then interviewed to give a fuller picture of each company. Finally, an eight-person national panel of small-business experts was chosen by "The Journal" and Winning Workplaces to judge the finalists. Each judge read 13 or 14 of the 35 finalist applications. The panel met in June to select the 15 Top Small Workplaces. Winners were chosen based on both metrics and qualitative assessment of their success in creating workplaces that nurture, challenge, and reward employees.
