Lysaker, 20 December 2006 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): High precipitation and inflow increased reservoir levels in Norway In week 50 precipitation levels where 70 percent above normal and the inflow to Norwegian reservoirs was three times its normal level. Due to the high inflow, the reservoir level in Norway increased by 0.6 percentage points to 67.8 percent at the end of week 50. In the new NO2 area in Mid-Norway the reservoir level fell by 1.3 percentage points to 61.3 percent. However, the level is still above that of 2002 and 2003 for the same week. In NO3, Northern Norway, the reservoir level fell by 0.7 percentage points to 64.1 percent. The level is still higher than the corresponding week in 2003 but somewhat lower than in 2002. The Nord Pool Spot price increased by 0.5 øre/kWh in Southern Norway, while falling by 0.5 - 1 øre/kWh in the other Nordic price areas including NO2 and NO3. However, the price level in these two price areas was still a bit higher than the other Nordic areas.
