German Broadband Carrier Unitymedia NRW GmbH Selects Evolving Systems for Triple Play Service Activation
| Source: Evolving Systems, Inc.
ENGLEWOOD, CO--(Marketwire - January 29, 2008) - Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ : EVOL ), a
leading provider of software solutions and services to the wireless,
wireline and IP carrier market, today announced that its Tertio™ Service
Activation solution and Tertio™ Service Verification solution have been
selected by German broadband carrier Unitymedia to support their growth
strategy for triple play services.
Unitymedia's core business is TV, with more than five million customers
covering two of the largest populated states in Germany. The company has
been very successful expanding its business to provide not just TV but
triple play services -- TV, telephony and Internet access. To support this
growth, Unitymedia required a system that could quickly and accurately
provision all current and future services, as well as support their
business strategy and planned network expansions.
After a competitive evaluation, Unitymedia selected Evolving Systems'
Tertio Service Activation and Tertio Service Verification solutions, with
the service verification component being a key differentiator in that
decision.
Evolving Systems' Tertio Service Activation will provide a flexible and
scalable solution that is business critical to managing all Unitymedia's
subscriber services. Tertio Service Verification will provide a
reconciliation solution, helping the company reduce operational cost
efforts and improve service quality for their customers. Previously this
function had been carried out manually, a highly time and labor intensive
process.
"Unitymedia has very aggressive growth plans for triple play services,"
said Kamran Ziaee, Vice President Information Services at Unitymedia.
"Selecting Evolving Systems' Tertio Service Activation solution and, in
particular, Tertio Service Verification, will help us grow our business,
protect revenue and support our network expansion."
"Evolving Systems is pleased to add its newest customer in Germany,
continuing our success in the European telecoms market," said Thad Dupper,
president and CEO of Evolving Systems. "Unitymedia's expansion from their
traditional TV market to providing triple play services is a significant
undertaking and we look forward to our products supporting them and
contributing to their resounding success. Our products will provide a
solution that is flexible and scalable for Unitymedia's current and future
activation requirements."
