IT – Post Trade Anonymity to be introduced June 2, 2008 (13/08)

All major international exchanges (except OMX) are currently using Post Trade Anonymity on their entire markets. In the Nordics, the tradition of openness has also been pervasive in the financial markets. All transactions have had member id associated with it so all interested could see which member had been involved in the transaction.

Through the internationalization of the markets, more members based outside the Nordics have become active in our markets. These members are accustomed to trading in an anonymous environment.

OMX Nordic Exchange strongly believes that an environment where trades are disseminated without member id is favorable for electronic trading and will increase liquidity in the market.

The OMX Nordic Exchange will introduce Post Trade Anonymity for the public information in conjunction to the launch of SAXESS release 5.0.0, planned for 2008-06-02. This means that the Trade Ticker will not contain counterparties’ ID’s at the time of dissemination of the trade. The counterparty information will be disseminated later the same trading day, at the time of the orderbook close (currently 18.00 CET) in a batch message that updates the previously published trades.

Please, download the attached file for more information.

Best regards,
OMX Nordic Exchange
