Plymouth Rock Introduces Unique Discounts and Services for Massachusetts Auto Policyholders

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - March 6, 2008) - Beginning April 1, Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation will become the first automobile insurer in Massachusetts to reward its new and renewing policyholders with an automatic discount for "going green" by driving less. Plymouth Rock also will provide a package of discounts and services at no additional charge -- called "Make Your Life Easier Services(SM)," or MYLES(SM) -- that is unique in the Massachusetts market.

In addition to the standard low-mileage discount that is currently available, Plymouth Rock will automatically apply a mileage discount to the policy premiums of customers who drive fewer miles than the average for the type of geographic area in which they live (rural, suburban, inner suburban or urban), based on individual vehicle mileage records collected by the state Registry of Motor Vehicles during annual inspections. For example, Plymouth Rock policyholders who drive as little as 15% below the average for their area will receive a 10% to 20% discount. Plymouth Rock recognizes that some drivers have to drive more than average due to their location, such as those who live in suburban or rural areas, and takes these differences into account in measuring mileage for the discount.

The MYLES(SM) program is a free endorsement that provides customers with e-mail reminders for license, registration and inspection sticker renewals, the ability to view and pay bills online, and more. Participants also receive the Plymouth Rock "Savings Pass," a card that entitles policyholders to discounts of 5% to 25% on auto-related products and services purchased from select retail partners, representing more than $200 in total savings.

Plymouth Rock also is offering three new discounts targeted at less-experienced operators:

--  An Advanced Driver Training Discount for drivers with less than six
    years of experience who participate in an RMV-certified advanced driver
    training program such as In Control®, which applies for up to three years
    on Bodily Injury, Personal Injury Protection, Property Damage and Collision
    coverages;
    
--  A Good Student Discount for inexperienced operators enrolled full-time
    in high school or an accredited college or university, who have no more
    than three SDIP points and maintain at least a "B" or equivalent grade
    average; and
    
--  A Student Away at School Discount for inexperienced operators residing
    at an accredited educational institution more than 100 miles from the
    garaging location who do not have regular access to the covered vehicle
    while at school.
    

In addition, Plymouth Rock is offering several new policy endorsements, which will be free of charge to customers who qualify:

--  OEM coverage - covers replacement cost of an Original Equipment
    Manufacturer part when the damaged part of a vehicle with less than 20,000
    miles cannot be repaired.
    
--  Replacement Cost Endorsement - pays the difference between the Actual
    Cash Value (ACV) of the auto and the cost of a new vehicle in the event of
    a total loss to a new vehicle less than twelve months old and with less
    than 15,000 miles;
    
--  Deductible Rewards - reduces both the Collision and Limited Collision
    deductible each year the policy does not have a claim by $100 per vehicle
    each year, to a maximum of $500 per vehicle (or the total deductible if
    less than $500); and
    
--  Accident Forgiveness - on policies in effect with Plymouth Rock for at
    least 48 months, on which all listed drivers are SDIP step 99 and no claims
    have been filed, a surcharge will not be applied and the SDIP credit will
    not be lost due to one surchargeable, at-fault accident that may occur to a
    listed operator and vehicle (free of charge only for qualified policy
    renewals between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009; available for purchase
    by new SDIP 99 policyholders as of April 1, 2008 and for renewing policies
    after March 31, 2009).
