Learn and Understand the Effects of Alzheimer's Disease -- New Picture Book is An Informative Guide That Can Help Children and Their Parents be Patient and Understandable With Alzheimer's Sufferers Within Their Family

WELLINGTON, Kan., March 17, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- It can't be denied that Alzheimer's Disease affects not only elderly people but also relationships within their families. As old folks struggle with weak memory, children can only wonder why their elders have forgotten their memories, names of people close to them, and directions for traveling. In her quest to educate youth and families about Alzheimer's, author Marcia Waugh recently published through Xlibris her new picture book, How Come and Why.

Written as a tribute to her father who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease, How Come and Why emphasizes the many effects of the disease on its victims, such as forgetting directions, seeing things that don't exist, mood swings, and being unable to recognize members of the family, to name a few. This will teach children and their parents ways on how to deal with Alzheimer's sufferers, be patient with them and establish a solid understanding of their conditions. Ultimately, this book explains that, as there are no cures for the disease, the best way we can help sufferers is by giving them hugs and sharing our love.
