REYKJAVIK, ICELAND--(Marketwire - April 16, 2008) - Reykjavik Energy Invest (REI), the
business development and investment arm of Reykjavik Energy, has committed
to offer up to 10 scholarships for the REYST M.Sc. program in the
sustainable use of energy resources for the 2008 - 2009 study year.
REYST, an interdisciplinary school in higher education for engineers and
scientists, aims to create leading experts in management, design and
research in the field of sustainable energy. The school is a joint venture
between Reykjavik Energy, Reykjavik University and the University of
Iceland.
The school offers an international graduate program based on the three
pillars of engineering, earth science and business. The program focuses on
sustainable energy use, practical experience in the field and ready access
to on-site work with experts in various subjects.
Iceland, which largely operates on sustainable energy resources, has a long
tradition of using sustainable energy as well as up-to-date scientific and
technical know-how in harnessing and using renewable energy resources. One
of the key purposes of the school is to allow scientists and engineers from
around the world to capitalize on this background.
