WSJ. Names Editorial Team for New Luxury Magazine


NEW YORK, May 29, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Wall Street Journal has named several new key editorial staff members to its new high-end lifestyle magazine, WSJ., which is scheduled to launch Sept. 6, 2008.

"We have brought on some of the brightest and most creative minds in the business, and I couldn't be more pleased to add them to our exciting effort of bringing WSJ. to readers," said Tina Gaudoin, editor-in-chief of WSJ. New members of the WSJ. editorial team include:

* Lucy Gilmour has been named photo director. Prior to joining WSJ., Ms. Gilmour was the photography director of House & Garden from 2000 until it closed in November 2007. She has also worked in Paris for Conde Nast Traveller and in New York for The New Yorker.

* Kate Auletta has been named assistant features editor. Ms. Auletta previously served as an assistant editor in the Style department at House & Garden, prior to the magazine's close in November 2007. She also worked as an editorial assistant in the Home department at InStyle magazine.

* Janelle Carrigan has been named features editor. Ms. Carrigan has been with the Journal for several years, most recently as travel editor of the Weekend Journal section and managing editor of the Weekend Journal Asia based in Hong Kong. She began her career in Australia, where she was a reporter for business magazines before moving to newspapers, serving as Melbourne editor of Sunday Life, a weekly lifestyle insert in the Age and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers. She has also written for Rolling Stone and for Australian food publications.

* Jeffrey Podolsky has been named editor at large. Mr. Podolsky was most recently New York Editor of Tatler Magazine. He earlier served as senior editor, Arts & Entertainment, for George magazine. Mr. Podolsky has been a writer, correspondent, and news editor at People and has also served as a regular contributor to The Times of London's magazine, Luxx, and has written for W, Vogue Hommes International and Travel + Leisure.

* Sasha Wilkins has been named executive style editor. Prior to joining WSJ., Ms. Wilkins wrote out of New York for British publications including Harper's Bazaar, Elle, The Sunday Times, Grazia, vogue.com and online creative network The Hospital. Previously based in London, she was launch executive fashion editor of O: Magazine, national UK Sunday broadsheet The Observer's glossy fashion title.

WSJ. will be distributed to a global circulation of approximately 960,000 Journal subscribers in the United States, Europe and Asia. The magazine will publish as a quarterly in 2008, moving to a monthly publication schedule in 2009.
