Mi-Co Announces Mi-Forms Version 7 for Enhanced Mobile E-Forms Data Capture in Field Inspection

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC--(Marketwire - June 2, 2008) - Mi-Co, the developer of mobile data collection software solutions for field inspection, healthcare and government, today announced the immediate availability of Version 7 of its Mi-Forms software. Mi-Forms provides powerful and flexible mobile e-forms design, easy data capture, real-time data validation and secure communication to existing systems. Mi-Forms replicates the comfortable, natural, paper experience that mobile workers are familiar with, and captures and converts data into fully electronic information which is immediately accessible for reporting and analysis. The software supports Tablet PC, Windows Mobile and digital pen technology.

Mi-Forms Version 7 offers customers new features, enhanced flexibility in forms design and improved server performance and integration capabilities.

Design flexibility for data collection ease

Mi-Forms designers can now include subforms for field users to employ at the point of service. These subforms can capture an unlimited and dynamically changing number of data samples. New region control features streamline the data capture process by removing unnecessary fields from forms as they are being filled out. For example, a 'No' response would remove subsequent fields that are no longer necessary. Forms designers may also specify floating client expansion hotspots for rapid capture of linkable data that is not specified as part of a main form, for example, capturing a patient's vital signs while filling out a report.

Server administration ease and time savings

In addition to continual performance improvement, Mi-Forms Version 7 supports load balancing through server clustering, has improved integration with customers' back-end user account directories, and includes support for background networking, which allows first-connection-availability data transmission. Mi-Forms Version 7 also supports rapid forms transformation from pre-existing forms including PDFs, Microsoft Word files, desktop publisher files, other forms packages and paper forms.

"From the user perspective, we've made mobile data capture for all types of field inspection even more intuitive and simplified," stated Greg Clary, Mi-Co CEO. "But from an enterprise standpoint, we're providing a crucial component to BI and BPM by enabling very high quality data capture and routing throughout a company's information systems."
