Wired Puts ESI Design's College Basketball Experience on List of Great Interactive Museums to See This Summer

"The Days of Look, but Don't Touch Are Being Cast Aside... It's Clear That People Want Something More Than a Passive Stroll Through the Portrait Gallery..." Dave Banks, Wired Blog Network

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - July 24, 2008) - ESI Design's College Basketball Experience (Kansas City, MO) was named one of five great interactive museums to visit this summer by Dave Banks of Wired Magazine's blog network. Others that made the list are the International Spy Museum (Washington, DC), Newseum (Washington, DC), Museum of Glass (Tacoma, WA) and the Exploratorium (San Francisco, CA).

The College Basketball Experience (CBE) -- a 41,500 square foot interactive space that features the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame -- is a participatory, visitor-centric Hall of Fame model that breaks through the clutter and immerses fans in the men's college basketball experience in a multi-dimensional, participatory way. The design brings visitors inside the game to experience the thrill of the ultimate team sport first-hand while integrating into the visitor experience the ideals of integrity, teamwork, commitment, determination and sportsmanship that coaches emphasize with their players.

In designing the facility, ESI's goal was to involve the fan experientially in the coach-player relationship by bringing fans inside the college game and inviting them to physically interact with, and contribute to, the exhibits themselves. Fans not only break a sweat through hands-on-the-ball activities but also pay homage to the mentors in their own lives as they contribute testimonials and take time to reflect. This 21st century sports experience thrives and grows thanks to visitors' physical and emotional participation.

ESI Design's client for the College Basketball Experience is the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
