NCSBN Nursys.com to Launch Completely Paperless Verification Jan. 1, 2009

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - December 17, 2008) - The National Council of State Boards of
Nursing's (NCSBN®) Nursys.com Web site will implement paperless
verifications beginning Jan. 1, 2009. As of this date, paper Nursys®
verification request forms will no longer be accepted by NCSBN.
The Nursys.com Web site is a component of Nursys (Nurse System), which is a
computer system that contains nurse license and license discipline
information provided by boards of nursing in the U.S. and its territories.
Nursys.com allows nurses to verify their license(s) from a Nursys licensure
participating state* when applying for endorsement into another state.
Paperless verification is more efficient, easier and quicker because the
verification report is activated immediately and available to all nursing
boards in the U.S. and its territories for 90 days. The Nursys.com Web site
also provides instant online license verification reports to employers and
the general public.
The fee will remain at $30 for registered nurse (RN) license or
practical/vocational nurse license (LPN/VN) verification. The fee to verify
both RN and LPN licenses is $60.
Nursys.com applicants can pay by credit card using the secure and private
payment system. Once the application is complete and the credit card
payment approved, the verification is posted immediately.
The fee for online license verification reports is $5 per report to
employers and the general public.
