Workscape Provides Charitable Donation to the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R)

MARLBOROUGH, MA--(Marketwire - December 19, 2008) - Workscape, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced benefits and talent management solutions, recently provided a $5,000 donation to the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, part of the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2008, Workscape's Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Ed Hurley-Wales, presented the check to Ronni Cohen-Boyar, Executive Director of the Komen Massachusetts Affiliate. The funds were raised by Workscape employees through an online auction as part of "Workscape Gives Back." Workscape employees, who raise money several times per year for local charities through online auctions and other events, chose to support the Komen Massachusetts Affiliate during October to mark National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Items and services donated by the employees were auctioned throughout the month and all proceeds were given to the Komen Massachusetts Affiliate.

"Giving back has always been part of Workscape's DNA. We have a long history of fostering a spirit of charitable giving among our employees, and our team wanted to extend our culture of giving back with this donation to the Komen Massachusetts Affiliate," said Ed Hurley-Wales. "We are honored to play a small role in the worldwide fight against breast cancer by supporting the important work that Susan G. Komen for the Cure undertakes, particularly for those who cannot afford the treatment they need."

The goal of the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to ensure 100 percent annual screening and 100 percent access to healthcare in the state by funding education, screening and treatment programs, with an emphasis on the medically underserved. In 2007, with the help of the community and events such as the annual Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure® 5K Run/Walk, the Massachusetts Affiliate raised $2 million to help support local education, screening and treatment programs.
