SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwire - March 5, 2009) - Digital Map Products (DMP), a leading
provider of SaaS enterprise GIS applications to cities and local
governments, today announced its CityGIS and CommunityView products are
now available to customers in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and
Georgia.
Digital Map Product's CEO Jim Skurzynski says cities in these four states
can, for the first time, take advantage of recent giant steps forward in
the use of spatial data. With the introduction of CityGIS, it's now easy
for city departments to combine their spatial data and put together intra-
and inter-department layered maps that instantly improve decision making.
For example, city staff can visualize zoning, sewer lines, street lights
and hiking trails on one map without having to burden their local GIS
expert.
"That's a huge leap forward for cities that are short on time and money,"
Digital Map Product's CEO Skurzynski says. "Those of us who understand the
power of visual data have been waiting for years for it to reach this point
-- where it is easy and accessible for everyone, in every department, and
even the public to use. We're hearing from our city customers that it's
revolutionizing the way they operate both internally and with their
constituents."
Digital Map Products has entered new markets including all of Florida and
North Carolina and parts of South Carolina and Georgia. Its products have
been available in California, Texas and other western states since 1999.
CityGIS is an easy-to-use enterprise GIS solution with workflow features
designed specifically for city managers, planners, and community
development and public works officials. It allows all departments in a city
to integrate and share spatial data such as maps and GIS information.
Because CityGIS is a software-as-a-service product, it does not require
the purchase or maintenance of hardware.
Another newly-available DMP product, CommunityView, allows cities to
publish to the Internet high resolution aerial imagery and customized map
layers with important key property and community information such as:
parcel boundaries, property characteristics, zoning, city services, city
amenities, and local attractions. Not only can residents self-service
their basic property information questions, it also allows them to create
their own maps based on their specifications.
