| Source: RAID Incorporated
METHUEN, MA and AVON, MA--(Marketwire - March 25, 2009) - RAID Incorporated, a customized
storage solution and services provider specializing in leading edge
technologies, and Terascala,
developer of high throughput, high capacity, cost-effective parallel
storage appliances, announced today that they have entered into a strategic
partnership in order to leverage Terascala's parallel file system
expertise, and to allow RAID to provide complete
end-to-end storage solutions for the HPC market.
"We are extremely excited to work with Terascala to continue advancing our
capabilities in the world of high-performance computing," stated Robert
Picardi, Chief Operating Officer at RAID. "Terascala has a unique solution
in the marketplace, the likes of which many of our customers have been
asking for. Our belief is that parallel file systems such as Lustre are
becoming a requirement in most high performance environments. Many
customers now understand that a storage system that can deliver data to
keep pace with the processors is a requirement to maximize overall
performance and utilization."
Terascala has already qualified the RAID's compact Razor system for use with the
integrated, active - passive redundant metadata server architecture of
their MTS 1000
solution, which provides the highest levels of performance and reliability
for the most critical component of the system. The MTS 1000 is architected
for maximum throughput and data availability so that applications run at
peak efficiency, and delivers over 2GB/sec from a single enclosure and up
to 10 GB/sec from a full rack. In addition, Terascala will be qualifying
RAID's Xanadu solution for
use in their entire product line, providing unprecedented value in terms of
scalability, performance, and data integrity to their customer base.
"RAID has had a reputation for years of providing the HPC and research
markets with enterprise-class storage solutions at great cost points, along
with extremely reliable 24x7 support," stated Rick Friedman, VP of
Marketing and Product Management at Terascala. "We feel that they are in a
unique position in terms of understanding our customer base and their
needs, and having the ability to customize a solution to team with our
storage appliances that will meet or surpass all of their expectations."
