Morris, Manning & Martin Establishes Taiwan Presence

Expands Intellectual Property and Asia Practices

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - April 1, 2009) - Raymond J. Ho has joined Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP as Of Counsel in the firm's Intellectual Property (IP) and Asia practices. Mr. Ho, formerly of Hogan & Hartson LLP, will practice in the firm's expanding Washington, D.C. office and lead the firm's Taiwan Practice. Mr. Ho's practice, which has significant connections to Taiwan, has prompted Morris, Manning & Martin to open a representative office in Taipei. It is expected that he will spend a significant portion of his time working from the firm's newest location.

Mr. Ho has repeatedly and successfully represented major Taiwanese companies in complex multi-patent cases filed in the International Trade Commission (ITC) and/or U.S. district courts.

Mr. Ho has more than ten years of experience in various aspects of intellectual property practice, including intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution and technology licensing as well as transactions involving patentability, validity and infringement analyses for clients in the technology sector. He is particularly knowledgeable in the fields of integrated circuits, semiconductor and laser fabrication, telecommunications, data processing, electronic circuits and displays, computer hardware and software, image processing, medical devices and Internet-related applications.

"Our opening an office in Taiwan is a natural extension of our well established Asia Practice," said the firm's Managing Partner Bob Saudek. "We have extensive international connections and will be looking to capitalize on them for the benefit of our clients and firm. We will have more announcements regarding our international practice in the near future."

Morris, Manning & Martin is rapidly increasing its market presence in Asia, Washington, D.C., and the Intellectual Property space:

-- The firm's Asia Practice includes over a dozen Mandarin speakers with
deep connections to China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The Practice is primarily
focused on representing Chinese, Taiwanese, and other Pacific-Rim-based
companies and institutions with their operations in the United States.
-- The firm's Washington, D.C. office has more than doubled in the past
year. Its focus includes the Asian practice, Intellectual Property
litigation, patent prosecution and commercial litigation as well as
    insurance transactional and regulatory work.
-- The firm's Intellectual Property Practice includes over 20 lawyers,
specialists and agents, a majority of whom have advanced technical degrees.
The practice has expanded by over 30 percent in the past year.
