Launch Announcement: e.Republic's Center for Digital Government Creates Digital States Performance Institute

FOLSOM, CA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2009) - The Center for Digital Government, a division of e.Republic, announced the launch of the Digital States Performance Institute (DSPI), an outgrowth of its successful Digital States Survey which ranks the 50 states in their use of information technology to deliver government services.

Based on data collected as part of the comprehensive bi-annual survey, the DSPI will serve as a research and best practices clearing house and community of interest on the most effective uses of information technology by state governments from throughout the country. It is designed to foster close collaboration among state executives and raise national standards for the use of digital technology in government performance. The institute will consist of ongoing original research, planning aids, online communities, regularly focused planning sessions and special events.

Cathilea Robinett, Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government said, "With the Digital States Performance Institute, all states will be able to access even greater understanding of what elements constitute top-notch digital innovation that ultimately impacts delivery to their citizens. As such, we are very excited to broaden our relationship with State chief information officers and executives across the nation who continue to work diligently toward better digital solutions."

The DSPI is being underwritten by leading technology firms, including: Accenture, EMC, NIC and Verizon Business.

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.
