BELLINGHAM, Wash., April 30, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Horizon Financial Corp. (Nasdaq:HRZB) the bank holding company for Horizon Bank ("Bank"), today reported that its Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Dennis Joines as a Director of the Company and the Bank, and as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Bank.

"We wish Dennis well in the future," said Rich Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer. "We are now in the process of initiating a search for a Chief Operating Officer to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bank."
