PlantCML(R) Next-Generation Emergency Call System Enters Operational Service for Collier County Florida

TEMECULA, CA--(Marketwire - May 28, 2009) - A new emergency call center system has entered service in Collier County, Florida with PlantCML®'s integrated call processing solution and data collection/management application. The system provides a highly capable facility for the region's current and next generation requirements in E9-1-1 dispatch and disaster response.

This Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) was formally dedicated today, and is the result of an implementation involving PlantCML, an EADS North America company, with telecommunications service provider Embarq. It is housed in Collier County's state-of-the-art Emergency Services Center, which is resistant to a Category 5 hurricane, withstanding winds greater than 155 mph and storm surge flooding of more than 22 feet.

The call center has 34 positions for police, fire, and EMS call takers and dispatchers, and integrates PlantCML's VESTA® CS1000 call processing system, as well as the company's MagIC™ data collection/management application. Incorporating the Nortel CS1000HA (Communication Server 1000 High Availability), the center's advanced capabilities include the automatic skills-based routing of emergency calls based on call taker's unique skill sets such as language and specialized emergency training, and it utilizes a System Signaling Gateway (SSG) for IP (Internet Protocol) connectivity. Soon to be deployed will be PlantCML's advanced call center information management application Aurora™.

"This new PlantCML solution, in an incredible facility, fully meets Collier County's evolving emergency response needs, with built-in capability for next-generation 9-1-1 call and data handling," said PlantCML President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Fuller. "This is our largest PSAP installation in Florida, and it clearly demonstrates PlantCML's industry leading capabilities for future opportunities in the state."

Bob Finney III, Technical Manager, Collier County Sheriff's Office, described the cut-over from its previous system to the new installation as one of the smoothest in his career. "This facility better equips the Sheriff's Office to serve the citizens of Collier County, and it significantly enhances our 9-1-1 response capabilities in all scenarios, including hurricane and disaster recovery. The new system allows for a much more efficient handling of calls and better use of our personnel. It also offers a variety of supervisory tools to better manage the center."

Collier County is situated on Florida's southwest coast facing the Gulf of Mexico, and covers a total land area of over 2,000 square miles, making it the second largest county East of the Mississippi River. It includes the cities of Naples and Marco Island, and is home to more than 332,000 residents -- while also serving as a popular tourism destination.
