DCC Releases New Version of GIS-Driven Notification Solution, GeoCast(R) Web

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwire - June 2, 2009) - DCC (Dialogic Communications Corp.), a PlantCML® company and global leader in emergency notification technology, today announced the highly anticipated release of its GIS-driven solution, GeoCast® Web, version 1.6. Enhanced functionality and new features, including major modifications to the user interface, plume modeling and text-to-speech, will empower public and private operations to communicate faster and more effectively with people inside specific geographic areas, helping secure their safety in times of crisis.

"The rise in natural and man-made disasters further drives the need for quickly alerting local homes and businesses of impending danger," says Scott Alfieri, DCC president. "The expanded capabilities of GeoCast Web make it easier than ever for our customers to safeguard their employees or their communities."

A must-have for organizations facing the threat of hazardous materials spills, the addition of plume modeling using the ALOHA (Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres) product, allows users to quickly define incident parameters and select a focal point for the affected zone(s). GeoCast Web, version 1.6, then automatically provides communication via telephone with those in possible danger. Plume modeling also offers the flexibility to upload a text file containing coordinates of a location, such as a flood plain, expediting notification of homes and businesses in the vicinity when necessary.

For users who must communicate with people who speak a language other than English, GeoCast Web, version 1.6, offers comprehensive bilingual capabilities. Messages are recorded in two languages, and call recipients choose which to hear by pressing a number on the telephone keypad. Text-to-speech is available when using any of the several languages available through DCC, including Latin American Spanish, Canadian French, Portuguese, German, United Kingdom English or Australian English. The application also distributes messages via TDD/TTY, providing notification to the hearing impaired.

GeoCast Web, version 1.6, accessible using any web browser, is ideal for communications related to inclement weather, evacuations, missing persons, boil water notices, employee recalls and more. It is also a highly effective public outreach tool, proven to provide local residents and businesses non-emergency, yet important information, concerning town meetings, community services and crime prevention.
