TOKYO, July 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced it will begin providing dedicated line Internet Connectivity Service in AT TOKYO Corporation's data center in Tokyo starting July 15, 2009.
Internet Connectivity Service is IIJ's top high-spec connectivity service. It provides connectivity at the customer's desired bandwidth using any type of dedicated access line, including Ethernet access. It is also compatible with advanced network connectivity configurations, such as multihoming, which provides connectivity redundancy through the use of different access lines and ISPs.
When providing Internet Connectivity Service in other company's data center, the customers were required to connect internet access line between the data center and IIJ's internet connectivity facility. However, by building IIJ's internet connectivity facility in AT TOKYO's data center, it enables customers to install a giga-class broadband connection in a shorter period of time and at a lower cost.
The Internet line provided in AT TOKYO will be monitored 24/365 with high reliability and security against network failure through line redundancy. The service is also compatible with IPv6 and BPG connections and uses a per-unit fee schedule to meet the needs of a wide range of situations, such as customers who experience temporary traffic surges. Combining Internet Connectivity Service with IIJ's other managed services, such as routers and firewalls, delivers total support to our customers, from Internet connectivity functions to network security measures.
IIJ will continue to work to provide the most reliable Internet connectivity environment available.
