As previously announced, the settlement time at the Icelandic Securities Depository (ISD) will be moved from 9 am to 12 noon as of September 21, 2009. As a result the determination of rights for fixed income instruments will change. After this change the record date will be one bank day before the payment date of interest and installments and the rights will be determined by the ownership registration at the ISD at the end of that day. In other words, rights to interest and installments are included in transactions to be settled no later than one bank day before the payment date of interest and installments. In contrast to the previous convention for most Icelandic fixed-income instruments, the rights will, thus, from now on not be included in transactions to be settled on the payment date itself. Following this change, the rights to interest and installments of all fixed income instruments (besides one*) on the Icelandic market which are registered at the ISD are now handled in the same manner. This is in accordance with the Exchanges‘ recommentation which can be found here: http://nordic.nasdaqomxtrader.com/digitalAssets/63/63205_recommendation_recdate_ 20090626.pdf *The only exception is Treasury note 10 1210 (RIKB 10 1210) which will be handled in the same manner as today. Rights to interest and installments are therefore included in transactions to be settled on the payment date itself.
