The uDevelop platform, modeled on the principle of open source software development, will allow the more than 2.5 million healthcare professionals who engage with Cerner(R) solutions to provide direct feedback on solution enhancements and to have a hands-on role in customizing and developing Cerner solutions.

The uDevelop platform is designed to create an ecosystem to promote the development, sharing and distribution of new and existing Cerner solutions. The collaborative platform will enable developers to:
* Share ideas about extending and customizing solutions; * Create project spaces focused on solving specific objectives; * Provide tools to facilitate the development of software; * Publish innovations with the community; and * Purchase new solutions.
The innovations created through the uDevelop platform will be made available to Cerner clients through the uCern Store. Through the uCern Store site, Cerner clients will be able to browse through a menu of solution offerings, upgrade packages and enhancements, and purchase those offerings online.
An example of the content available on the uCern Store is the Emergency Department Summary MPages(TM) solution. The MPages Web-based platform offers customized views of clinical data, unique to the needs of urgent care delivery within the Cerner Millennium(R) Electronic Health Record (EHR). Using clinician input from a collection of provider organizations, this solution is a result of collaboration at the edges of healthcare, telling the comprehensive story of an Emergency Room patient at a glance. The uDevelop platform provides an ecosystem for communities of developers to innovate across the network of Cerner clients.
