Lappland Goldminers achieved its highest quarterly production from Pahtavaara
during the fourth quarter and 211 kgs were produced. For the full year 688 kgs
of gold were produced by the group.

Operating highlights during the fourth quarter
Gold for the fourth quarter was entirely produced from the Pahtavaara mine.
Mining operations performed well during the quarter with the exception of lower
grades in October as the operation mined low grade areas as in the third
quarter. The gold grades in November and December exceeded 2 grams per tonne of
mined ore and have since continuedon the planned level.
The annual production from Pahtavaara was marginally below the plan for the
year, however, the recoveries increased to 87 percent from a planned 85 percent.
Mining production started at a low level at the beginning of the year. When the
mine opened, mill feed was mixed with lower grade waste material. However, with
continuous mining production from May to the end of the year, tonnages and
grades have steadily improved.
