New Features at ClassicsOnline.com

Site Now Offers Video Streaming and Physical CD Purchase

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - February 18, 2010) -  An indication of the rapid pace of development at the two year-old Classical music online specialty store, ClassicsOnline (www.classicsonline.com) has debuted two new technical features in February 2010. Initially a 'download only' outlet, the site has given customers the ability to purchase physical CDs and has also introduced video streaming.

Grammy® Award-winning vocal group The King's Singers (www.kingssingers.com) made a rare Nashville appearance on Sunday, February 14, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Sponsored by ClassicsOnline, the concert was part of a promotion involving a song dedication contest. Within hours of the end of the concert, six videos of the group's performance were made available for streaming to registered members of ClassicsOnline. Each video contained live performance footage of a King's Singers song paired with ClassicsOnline customer's personal Valentine's dedications. The songs and dedications were also voted on by ClassicsOnline members.

ClassicsOnline also added physical products to its offerings, a potential game-changing opportunity for both customers and labels. Now, many of the over 30,000 albums on offer for digital download can also be ordered for consumer-direct shipping. Rather than being limited to downloads only, or having a limited range of downloads added to a physical goods store, ClassicsOnline offers their customers a choice of formats on a robust online catalog with best-of-breed searching and metadata.

Recognized earlier this year as 2009 'Classical Download Store of the Year' by the international jury at Midem, ClassicsOnline has more development planned for 2010, including the addition of lossless FLAC downloads and new payment models. Taken with the recent addition of podcasts and other technical upgrades, ClassicsOnline remains the world's leading independent online classical music store.
