Visteon Corp. (VSTNQ) is a global supplier of climate, interiors and electronics systems, modules and components to automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide. The Company's operations are organized in global product groups, including Climate, Electronics and Interiors. The Climate product group includes facilities that primarily manufacture climate air handling modules, powertrain cooling modules, heat exchangers, compressors, fluid transport and engine induction systems. "VSTNQ shares jumped Friday after Johnson Controls expressed interest in acquiring the Company's interiors and electronics businesses. Johnson Controls, which builds car interiors, batteries and other component, offered $1.25 billion in cash for the businesses, saying the acquisition would expand its presence in China.

"Responding to the unsolicited proposal, VSTNQ stated that the bid remained 'highly conditional and vaguely defined,' and added that Johnson Controls is a direct competitor that stands to benefit by introducing delay and complexity into the VSTNQ reorganization process."
