Dole to Speak at Gartner's IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit 2010 to Discuss End-to-End Application Performance Management

ORLANDO, Fla., June 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Gartner IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR) today announced that Dole Food Company, the world's largest producer of high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables, will discuss how Compuware's end-to-end application performance management solution is improving the performance and availability of its mission-critical applications. The session, titled: "Driving Performance Excellence: An End-to-End Application Performance Case Study," will take place on June 15, 2010, at 9:15a.m. ET at Gartner's IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management (IOM) Summit 2010 in Orlando.

As the leading global producer of fresh fruits and vegetables, one of Dole's strongest core competencies is its ability to produce, transport and deliver high-quality perishable products around the world. To ensure the timely delivery of its products, Dole's Fresh Fruit IT team needed the ability to monitor application health, identify performance issues and fix them before they hindered product delivery. Dole Fresh Fruit turned to Compuware for end-to-end application performance management.

Dole Fresh Fruit supports 24 facilities with more than 250 users in the U.S. and Canada. The Division was experiencing major performance issues in its transportation and logistics applications. There was no visibility into end-user experience to proactively resolve performance problems before they impacted the business.

"We needed a better way to monitor the health of our systems," said Trever Scott, Director of Information Technology in North America at Dole Fresh Fruit Company. "Due to the extreme complexity of our IT environment, troubleshooting for our IT team was complete guesswork. Compuware's application performance management solution has given us visibility into the infrastructure and the ability to monitor key performance indicators and react much more quickly. I look forward to sharing our application performance management story and success with my peers at Gartner's IOM Summit."

In his Gartner IOM Summit session, Mr. Scott will highlight how his IT team launched an end-to-end performance management program focused on the user experience combining people, process and technology. Mr. Scott will discuss and share some of the impressive results he and his team accomplished including:
