Ottawa County Transportation Agency (OCTA) in Oak Harbor, Ohio Selects RouteMatch Software to Optimize Transportation Services

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2010) -  RouteMatch Software, Inc. today announced that The Ottawa County Transportation Agency (OCTA) selected RouteMatch TS™ software, its flagship intelligent transportation system (ITS) software, for automated routing, scheduling and coordination of the County's public transit services.

The OCTA, partially funded by the Federal Transit Administration and the Ohio Department of Transportation, is a general public transit system that provides curb-to-curb, advanced reservation, shared ride service to anyone in Ottawa County who wants transportation for any reason. Along with providing general public service, OCTA contracts with the Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services, the Northwest Ohio Area Office on Aging, Ottawa County Senior Resources, and the Ottawa County Board of DD to provide transportation and home delivered meals for their constituency.

RouteMatch Software will be converting OCTA from an old, outdated passenger transportation management software system that they have been using for 10 years to RouteMatch TS™ transit management software. They are expecting to utilize Enterprise Data Management, Batch Scheduling, RSE and Ad-hoc Reporting to increase efficiencies for their operations with RouteMatch Software technology.

Said Tim Quinn, Executive Vice President of RouteMatch Software, "RouteMatch has a long and committed relationship to public transportation in Ohio. We are very pleased that Ottawa County chose RouteMatch to be their transit ITS solution partner. Our proposed solution will provide transit management software and automated scheduling and routing tools, allowing for tremendous growth and scalability as new ITS technologies are integrated. Both of our organizations share a similar vision and enthusiasm for improving mobility management in our communities."

In the future, OCTA has plans to integrate the RouteMatch system with in-vehicle technology and systematically roll out Mobile Data Computer devices as they receive additional funding. "We are pleased to take this important step in the evolution of our public transportation operations," stated Bill Lowe, Transit Director of OCTA. "This technology will allow us to significantly increase the efficiency of our public transit system and sustain the exemplary customer service our agency is known for providing." RouteMatch's advanced, GIS-enabled technology will also allow dispatchers and administrators to monitor their fleet and trip schedules in real-time providing visibility into fleet operations, enabling accurate feedback to customer inquiries and reducing costs associated with missed trips and driver/dispatcher miscommunication.
