Vyatta Open Network OS Completes IPv6 Ready Phase-2 Certification

Software-Based Routing and Security Solution Demonstrates Advanced Interoperability

BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - August 17, 2010) - Vyatta, the leader in open networking and network virtualization, today announced that it has completed IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 certification for its subscription edition software. By completing the IPv6 Forum conformance and interoperability testing program, Vyatta has verified its implementation of IPv6 core routing protocols.

The demand for IPv6 support continues to grow, and Vyatta offers the only software-based routing and security alternative with proven IPv6 functionality and interoperability. By meeting the IPv6 Forum compliance requirements, Vyatta customers can be confident that they are making a future-proof investment in a solution that offers a simplified migration path from IPv4 to IPv6.

"Migration to IPv6 is becoming a reality, with more IPv6-enabled products coming to market. By completing IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2 test requirements, Vyatta shows its commitment to enhancing IPv6 network security, reliability and performance and helping its customers manage a smooth transition," said Timothy Winters, senior IP manager at the IPv6 Interoperability Lab at the University of New Hampshire.

The IPv6 Forum verifies optimum compliance through the complete series of tests required for IPv6 Ready Logo Phase-1 and Phase-2 certifications. The Phase-1 testing certifies that a product includes IPv6 mandatory core protocols and can interoperate with other IPv6 implementations, while Phase-2 testing builds on that to indicate a product has successfully satisfied strong requirements as stated by the IPv6 Ready Logo Committee (v6LC).

"Vyatta is pleased to have the industry's first software-based and virtual network OS to be certified IPv6 Phase 2 Ready," said Tom McCafferty, vice president of marketing at Vyatta. "More and more of our customers are looking to migrate from IPv4 to IPv6. As Vyatta continues to penetrate government, education and large enterprise customers in the US and worldwide, they can confidently adopt Vyatta as a future-proof routing and security solution for their physical, virtual and cloud computing environments."
