World's Largest In-Plant Selects EFI Digital StoreFront to Modernize Workflow for Staff in Over 150 Locations

Digital StoreFront's Innovative, Proven Technology Wins Government Contract Over Multiple Competitors

CHICAGO, Oct. 4, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GRAPH EXPO -- EFI™ (Nasdaq:EFII), a world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that DLA Document Services (formerly named DAPS), part of the United States Department of Defense and the Defense Logistics Agency, has selected EFI Digital StoreFront® (DSF) as the Web-to-Print platform for its more than 150 locations in the United States and abroad.

DLA Document Services is replacing their home grown custom solution, which has been in use for 11 years. After an extensive RFP process, they selected Digital StoreFront. The contract for the first year is $2.4 million.

"DLA Document Services did a thorough evaluation of a number of different vendors that submitted bids, and we're proud they choose EFI Digital Storefront. This award demonstrates yet again that for any large scale Web-to-Print deployment, there is really just one option on the market and that is Digital StoreFront," said Marc Olin, senior vice president and general manager of APPS, EFI. "DSF's proven technology will bring DLA Document Services new levels of automation and efficiency while handling the scale their worldwide operations demand. We look forward to quickly deploying the system so DLA's 1,000 employees can reap the benefits as soon as possible."

Digital StoreFront is one of the leading Web-to-Print products for the printing industry, used by both commercial printing establishments as well as in-plants.  It's designed to deliver a branded and customized website to print provider clients for simple job submission, pricelist-based orders, complex specification-based quotes and orders, job, job history and invoice management. DSF supports personalized campaigns (VDP), file delivery and custom catalogs – helping print providers to build strong, profitable, and long-term relationships with their customers, whether they are employees of the same corporation utilizing an in-plant printing facility or commercial customers. Digital StoreFront can be hosted by EFI or the print service provider and is available with integration to EFI PrintSmith™, EFI Pace™, EFI Monarch and EFI Radius print MIS solutions.

Print and e-commerce industry consultant Jennifer Matt was a key partner to EFI on this project, and she is expected to be integral to the deployment phase.
